Works under the supervision of the Patient Access Management supervisor.This individual is responsible for assisting individuals interacting with theMedicalCenter.
Education:High School graduate or equivalent and preferably w/ entry level college courses.
Licensure:None
Experience: Typing skills required at 30 words per minute and capable of computer data entry.Experience with registration systems, word processing, spreadsheet applications or Internet knowledge is preferred.
Skills:Ability to operate phone system and assess information through computerized registration and scheduling system.
Interpersonal Skills:This position requires superior customer service skills and phone etiquette with the ability to relate effectively to a variety of customers in a professional and courteous manner.Demonstrates the ability to problem solve and work independently in a fast paced environment with constant interruptions. Must have the ability to communicate and interpret information in terms the patient or visitor can understand.Maintains strict confidentiality in regard to all information acquired in the course of performing the job.
Physical Effort:Light to medium physical work level of up to 25 pounds. Ability to move patients using wheelchair. Intermittent sitting and standing.
Hours of Work:Patient Information Desk (10th Street Entrance)
Hours of operation:5:30 a.m. - 6:00 p.m, Monday thru Friday.
Saturdays 5:30 a.m. to 4:00pm.Closed on Sundays.
Visitor Information Desk (Broadway Entrance)
Hours of operation:7:00 a.m. - 10:00 p.m.
Staffed seven days a week with weekend and holiday rotation.
Exemption Status: Non-Exempt
Other:Works under the following conditions: Potential exposure to mechanical, electrical and infectious environmental hazards. Able to perform effectively in emergency and stressful situations.Estimated Salary: $20 to $28 per hour based on qualifications.
