Minimum Qualifications
Must have one year of experience as a Developmental Disabilities Case Manager I in the ND Department of Human Services OR meet the following ND Department of Human Services definition of a Qualified Mental Retardation Professional (QMRP). A person who has at least one year of direct care experience working with persons with a mental illness or developmental disability; _AND_ is a doctor of medicine or has a Bachelor's or Master's degree in one of the following fields: social work, psychology, counseling, nursing, occupational therapy, physical therapy, child development and family science, communication disorders (includes audiology or speech pathology), severely multiply handicapped, special education, vocational rehabilitation, sociology, elementary education, recreation therapy, or human resources administration and management (human service track). (Certification or licensure in one of the above fields is not required for a QMRP designation).

Summary of Work
Duties and responsibilities include working with individuals with developmental disabilities receiving services, assessing the functional level of these individuals, and working with them to determine services. The case manager will gather all pertinent information to offer choice of services, develop an interdisciplinary team, and participate in the service plan. The case manager will monitor the plan through the Quality Enhancement Review process, do regular assessments, and maintain an up-to-date client record which meets licensure standards and the requirements of various funding sources. Position will require some travel within a 10 county area and the caseload will be comprised primarily of children and adolescents.
