Summary: This is the Lean Coordinator position for a Construction Equipment Manufacturing facility. This role is deeply integrated with the customers lean program as well as Menlos lean program. Applicants need to have a solid foundation in lean thinking and application along with the ability to clearly communicate all aspects of lean to a diverse workforce that has had limited exposure to lean as we drive through our agenda of weekly kaizen events. This role requires an individual that is able to make decisions and make it happen as well as the ability to drive projects forward without the luxury of any direct reports, Project Management and coordination skills. Success in this role will provide the applicant with a high level of visibility both within Menlo and with our customer.
Manage continuous process improvement within a complex, multifunctional facility. Provides Lean initiatives through facilitation, management, and administration of related principles, tools and values including promotion and advancement of strategic planning; training and development; and physical implementation. Consults with management team and Lean Sensei, while utilizing available reference materials, in order to accomplish the tasks. This position supports one location or campus.
Essential Functions:
Assists in facilitating lean activities, including, but not limited to Kaizen events, Lean Training Events, Standardization Implementation, Value Stream Mapping, and CIR Development sessions
Helps develop, teach, coach, and mentor area management, supervision, and associates.
Delivers practical, hands-on training to associates, supervision, and site management in Lean principles, tools and techniques to eliminate waste and improve flow in all administrative, manufacturing/warehousing and support functions.
Trains and develops associates in Lean principles and tools to eliminate waste and improve flow in all administrative, warehousing and support functions.
Assists Site Managers and Leadership teams in the development of Lean leaders
Ensures on-going education of all associates with continued development of Lean Coordinators at the sites that are supported.

Project management and analytical/problem solving skills with demonstrated skill to scope and analyze cross-functional problems and generate/implement solutions.
Outstanding verbal and written communication, facilitation and interpersonal skills.
Communicates the status of all Lean efforts to the Operations Leadership Team (30/30, 6-month progress report, Kaizen activities)
Administers and facilitates Continuous Improvement Roadmap Monthly Report Outs
Advance level of Lean understanding and applications of principles throughout facility operation.
Facilitate Kaizen Event meetings; ensure disciplined adherence to 7-step Process.
Coordinate implementation efforts; communicate, garner support, and ensure resource availability.
Provide necessary support during improvement activities.
Assist with development and completion of A3 writing/reporting
Maintain report records and supporting documentation files.
Design and maintain visual controls throughout warehouse facility.
Support Lean assessment process and planning requirements.
Monitor and maintain Lean tools and techniques within warehouse facility
Monitor & upload the GPN Site level documentation. Scope and Accountability:
Applies in-depth principles, concepts, practices and standards of a professional field to complete standards tasks and assignments. Researches and interprets factual information (e.g., assesses accuracy of detailed information, identifies inconsistencies in data and results); frequently solves problems through research of multiple alternatives.
Qualification Requirements:Knowledge:Degree in Logistics or related field preferred experience may substitute for education.
Skills:
Excellent understanding of Lean Manufacturing principles and Kaizen facilitation
Ability to interact effectively with all levels of the operations
Computer software expertise in Excel, Word, Power Point, Outlook and ERP systems familiarity
Experience:
This Position requires 0-2 years experience in providing overall direction, implementation, and continuous improvement of logistics solutions in all phases of warehousing and distribution.

The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
