Minimum Qualifications
Requires a Bachelors degree in counseling, including addiction counseling, criminal justice with an emphasis in juvenile justice, nursing, psychology, public health, social work, or sociology and five years of work experience in a human service field that included lead work or supervisory work experience; OR a Masters degree in one of the fields mentioned above and three years of work experience in a human service field that included lead work or supervisory work experience.
In addition to the education and work experience mentioned above, applicants must have the following:
Three years of experience providing DIRECT client services in a mental health or substance abuse service agency such as regional human service center, county social service office, Division of juvenile services, or private human service provider; and
DIRECT experience coordinating and facilitating meetings; and
Applicant must be able to demonstrate initiative and strong communication skills; and

Summary of Work
This position provides program oversight and assists with the implementing mental health and substance abuse service initiatives. This oversight includes developing new programs; coordinating and collaborating with multiple public and private providers; assist with training and technical assistance; and assist with assessment of the system of care. The position helps lead change and provides guidance on delivering appropriate evidence-based practices to children and their families. Several key initiatives are developing and sustaining a trauma-informed system of care and enhancing the system's ability to effectively provide services to address more complex child and family circumstances. The position works closely to review and analyze service data, track workforce issues, license regional human service centers and psychiatric residential treatment facilities, and review/revise regulatory documents. The position requires delivery of legislative testimony; contract management; developing and management of service budgets; facilitate and manage meetings; and occasional public speaking. Travel will be required.
