The Clinic Services Assistantperforms a variety of business office and reception duties accurately and with minimal supervision.These responsibilities include, but are not limited to: answering and routing phone calls in accordance with practice policies; scheduling patient appointments; greeting and registering patients; collecting, verifying and updating patient demographic and insurance information; gathering and coding charge information.Observes strict patient confidentiality in dealing with callers.
Education: High school graduate or equivalent.A Medical and/or office management degree is preferred.
Licensure:None
Experience: Prefer a minimum of two years office/secretarial experience in a medical skills, knowledge of medical terminology and scheduling practices is required.
Skills: Knowledge of medical office procedures.Ability to examine documents for accuracy and completeness.Ability to process patients and public inquiries with poise and efficiency.Ability to recognize, evaluate and resolve problems.Basic computer data entry skills, filing, spelling, telephone courtesy and minimum 30 words/minute typing.Ability to organize and prioritize tasks.
Interpersonal Skills: Mature and able to work under pressure.A pleasant personality and speaking voice; ability to relate well with providers, patients, public, and staff. Must maintain a positive and professional manner at all times. This person is responsible for providing both oral and written communications in an accurate, clear and concise manner to patients and staff members.
Physical Effort: Sedentary Light Category: Weight Lifted: 25 lbs. infrequently; 10 lbs. or less frequently.
Hours of Work: Daytime Variable hours.May need to work occasional overtime.
Exemption Status: Non-Exempt
Other: Work is performed in an office environment and requires both desk and counter work.Frequent contact with Clinic staff members, patients and business vendors, can also include contact with angry and upset involves dealing with sick patients.Works under the following conditions: potential exposure to mechanical, chemical, electrical, and infectious environmental hazards as associated with theMedicalCenters operationsEstimated Salary: $20 to $28 per hour based on qualifications.

The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
