Minimum Qualifications
Requires a bachelor's degree in business administration, criminal justice or a field closely related to the work to be performed and one year of professional-level experience working with tribal organizations and entities.
Preference will be given to applicants with the following
Experience:
Working with tribal governments, tribal courts, child welfare, and tribal law enforcement, corrections, tribal, state and federal law.
Effective negotiation skills.
Performing data collection, analysis, reporting, and policy.
Demonstrating effective written and verbal communications including presentations.
Working with legislative process.

Summary of Work
The Administrative Officer reports to the Executive Director of the ND Indian Affairs Commission providing support in working with tribal, state, federal, and other stakeholders to encourage and promote agreements and accords to address a variety of issue facing ND Indian citizens.
Responsibilities include:
Develop working relations with North Dakota's tribal, state and federal judicial systems.
Develop and maintain working relationships with all state agencies, ND Tribal agencies, departments and colleges. Federal, state, district and tribal judicial systems.
Attend meetings and conferences representing the Executive Director and the agency.
Coordinate legislative activity process for agency, respond to inquiries from state, federal, tribal and other stakeholders about legislation.
Perform research, policy and data collection, analysis and reporting.
Develop working relations with child welfare programs and issues.
Develop working relations with tribal, state, county and federal law enforcement agencies.
Assist with legislative hearings, committees and tribal council.
Work with the North Dakota Tribal Colleges.
