Job Description
This position is responsible for managing the commodity risk functions of the Middle Office as they pertain to the Cooperative and its subsidiaries trading and portfolio management. The incumbent is accountable for the performance and monitoring of the managed portfolio and offsets process. This includes achieving a thorough understanding of the commodity risk activities that the Cooperative and its subsidiaries engage in along with associated market fundamentals; promoting a risk awareness culture by reviewing Cooperative and subsidiary activities to monitor compliance with Cooperative Commodity & Financial Markets Risk Management Policies; implement risk analytics in order to quantify the uncertainty of Cooperative and subsidiary business units; implement, monitor and analyze risk reporting and be an active participant in continuous improvement projects.
Required Skills
This position requires continuous use of a keyboard/computer; frequent sitting, standing, and walking; and occasional bending, kneeling, reaching, and lifting up to 10 pounds. Finger dexterity, good hearing, color vision, and the ability to perform close work are required. Must be able to strategically analyze data and reports; implement recommendations; develop plans, procedures, and goals; and work under pressure to meet deadlines. The incumbent travels periodically on behalf of the Cooperative attending training sessions on new derivative products and other job related functions.
Required Experience
Required:Four year degree in Accounting, Finance, or Business related discipline and 10 years of experience in financial analytics. Supervisory skills; general knowledge of trading techniques, commodity futures markets, risk monitoring, and compliance, policy, and procedures development; analytical, problem solving, leadership and negotiation skills along with strong interpersonal, oral, and written communication skills; proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite; and the ability to work independently are required. An MBA, CPA, or CGMA are preferred.
