Minimum Qualifications
Bachelor's degree
Two years of professional work experience
Excellent oral, written, and interpersonal communication skills
Preferred Qualifications

Work experience managing programs or projects
Work experience providing aviation education programming
Work experience providing presentations to groups
Work experience with updating websites and social media advocacy
Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications including: Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook
FAA pilot's license

Summary of Work
The Aviation Education Coordinator is responsible for multiple aeronautics programs with a concentration in developing and promoting aviation education programming. The position needs to establish and maintain effective working relationships with co-workers, the general public, students, teachers, pilots, mechanics, airport managers, aviation businesses, the FAA, and other aviation-related personnel.
Provide updates to aviation promotional and educational programs, publications, and grants.
Provide updates to the state aeronautical chart and directory.
Communicate with the public on aviation-related concerns and requests for information.
Assist the airport planners in support of the state aviation system plan.
Develop strategies to educate and promote North Dakota aviation.
Promote the implementation of aviation curriculum and provide guidance and assistance to school systems within the state.
Provide guidance and assistance to the Aviation Air Museums within the state.
Manage and provide updates to the Aeronautics Commission website and social media outlets.
Organize and participate in special public events for the Commission such as air show booths, career day events, and airport fly-in's.
Promote events at schools such as Aviation Career Day, Real World Design Challenge, and Aviation Art Contest.
Manage a variety of aviation-related programs such as the ND Airport Passport Program, Flight Training Assistance, and Airport Intern programs.
Monitor and provide updates regarding the promotional and educational budgets.
Respond to media inquiries and aid the Director in issuing press releases.
Assist the Commission licensing specialist in the administration of aerial application rules, excise tax, aircraft licensing, and aircraft dealers.
Act as the Commission's representative to the aerial applicator industry within North Dakota.
Compile aeronautical statistical information at the request of the Director.
Provide support to the Aviation Council, Aviation Quarterly, and the Upper Midwest Aviation Symposium.
Ensure compliance of the Commission's obligation to provide the public with a continually updated online met tower database.
