Minimum Qualifications
Requires a bachelor's degree in computer science, computer or management information systems, or closely related field that included computer science coursework, and four years of work experience providing support, administration, and implementation of a wide variety of application servers.
Additional work experience as described may substitute for up to two years of the education requirement on a year-for-year basis.
Must have experience with network protocols including TCPIP.
Experience with Information Security guidelines and best practices.
Must have strong written and verbal communication skills.
Experience in monitoring complex application systems and operating systems.
Knowledge of rules for enterprise firewall systems.
High level of analytical and problem-solving skills.
Preferred Qualifications
Certified as a CISSP.
Background with NIST, GLBA, and FFIEC security controls.
Strong knowledge of TCP/IP protocols and network administration protocols.
Experience with Red Hat Linux and Windows 2008 R2 and above.
Strong knowledge of Active Directory - including group policy.
Penetration and vulnerability testing experience.
Experience in working with external auditor.
SIEM experience.

Duties and Tasks
Managing projects relating to implementing information security technologies- this requires extensive experience in server OS, network administration, and Information security best practices.
Working with relevant parties to help mitigate Information Security Audit issues.
Providing expertise in complex networking and system design.
Collaborate with state ITD regarding issues relating to information security.
Collaborate with other BND business units on information security as needed.
Respond to incidents relating to information security - This includes diagnosing, remediating, and reporting.
Produce reporting as needed.
Monitoring specified systems.
Backing up other IS personnel as needed.
Keeping up to date on IS technologies and recommending solutions as appropriate.
Work with external vendors to accomplish BND Information Security goals.
Assist with the Business Continuity and Disaster Recovery Plan and testing of the plan.
Design and document baseline (hardened) configuration for systems and network equipment.

Don't Be Fooled

The fraudster will send a check to the victim who has accepted a job. The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
