NORTH DAKOTA NATIONAL GUARD MEMBERSHIP IS REQUIRED: This is an excepted position that requires membership in a compatible military assignment in the National Guard. Selectee will be required to wear the military uniform. Acceptance of an excepted position constitutes concurrence with these requirements as a condition of employment.

Will be designated as the authorized Physical Security Inspector for the NDARNG and responsible for determining Organization-wide physical securityneeds. Establishes a Physical Security Program to plan, formulate, and coordinate physical security matters. Regular travel within the state is required. Manages and provides advice on programs to include physical security, information security, operations security, and communications security. These programs are complex in nature involving extremely intricateand detailed procedures to protect federal property and National Security information.
Conducts the cyclic, unit, and activity Physical Security Surveys and Inspections. Conducts COMSEC and secure room inspections. Conducts analysis of inspection data and prepares inspection reports to includerecommendations to correct deficiencies. Monitors corrective action correspondence and ensures follow-up inspections are completed as needed.
Implements the Risk Analysis Vulnerability Assessment Program for each designated mission essential and vulnerable area (MEVA). Ensures proper protective measures and procedures to protect unit, installation and organizational assets in support of the Commander.
Ensures security considerations are included in new construction, renovation, modification efforts, or lease acquisition of NDARNG property.
Facilitates the conduct of background checks to ensure compliance with regulations and policies regarding access to protected facilities.
In coordination with local intelligence and law enforcement support elements, assists with the development of the installation threat assessment.
Supports the anti-terrorism/force protection program with security inspections, advice and information. Participates in the Force Protection Working Group (FPWG).
Provides security awareness and education training to units focused on information, physical and operations security. Supports the communications security and personnel security programs.
Provides expertise on security locks and lock maintenance. Point of contact for units to replace and repair locks on security containers and vaults. Trains unit key custodians on the Key Inventory Reporting System (KIRS).
Understanding of Intrusion Detection Systems (IDS) to serve as a liaison to the State IDS Manager.
GENERAL
Experience: Experience, education, or training which demonstrates the ability to test security and evaluate electronic security systems, and security vulnerability assessments as it relates to information and information systems.
SPECIALIZED
Experience: Must indicate 24 months of the specialized experience. PLEASE NOTE: Your answers will be compared and verified against the information you provide on your resume.
1. Experience which demonstrates the knowledge of a wide range of security concepts, principles and practices.
2. Experience that demonstrates the knowledge of the methods of performing such duties as conducting inspections and investigations that influence the course of actions taken in resolving security questions and issues.
3. Experience that demonstrates the ability to develop guidance for applying security policy, procedures, techniques, equipment and methods to a variety of work situations.
4. Experience that demonstrates the ability to analyze and evaluate reports and conditions to recommend remedial actions.
MILITARY REQUIREMENTS: Selected candidates will be required to be in a compatible military grade and assignment prior to the effective date of placement.
EDUCATION SUBSTITUTION: A maximum of 12 months of the required experience may be substituted by successful completion of undergraduate study in an accredited college or university at the rate of 30 semester hours for 12 months of experience. The education must have been in fields directly related to the type of work.

##### Military Technicians in the excepted service will wear the military uniform appropriate to their service and grade when performing as a technician. They will comply with the appearance and weight standards contained in the appropriate regulation.
##### VETERANS PREFERENCE: The National Guard Technician Act of 1968 (PL 90-486) specifically excludes use of veterans preference for appointments made under the authority of 32 USC 709. All appointments in the NDNG are made under Title 32 USC; therefore, Veterans Preference is not applicable.
##### Individual recommended for the position will not be approved for appointment until the appropriate physical examination is completed and approved. The results of the physical may be shared with the individual's military chain of command.
##### Individual selected for the position will be required to obtain a secret security clearance.
##### PERMANENT CHANGE OF STATION (PCS) expenses will not be authorized for this position.

The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
