Minimum Qualifications
Network Engineer II - Bachelor's degree in computer science, computer information systems, network systems or related field and 5 years of current and progressive experience in planning, design, installation, testing, support and management on large, complex, network infrastructure supporting multiple locations. Preference will be given to candidates having experience with Juniper, Extreme, Palo Alto Network, Polycom or Avaya equipment. Preference will also be given to candidates with knowledge of Linux and network security practices.An Associate's degree or two years of related coursework in computer science, computer information systems, and 7 years of current and progressive experience as described above may be substituted for the above Bachelor's degree and 5 years of experience requirement.
Note: The Department will attempt to fill this position at the Network Engineer II level. If unable to find candidates who meet the above outlined minimum qualifications; the hiring authority reserves the right to under fill this position as Network Engineer I.

Summary of Work
The Information Technology Department (ITD) provides the equipment (hardware & software) and expertise (human resources) required for the design, installation, day-to-day operations and consulting ensuring its customers and partners of STAGEnet business are successful through the innovative use of technology.
STAGEnet (State Technology Access for Government and Education Network) is a large, enterprise-consolidated inter-network providing network connectivity for North Dakota government, higher education, K-12, and local government entities. Individual will work in a team environment responsible for the network.
Individual will be part of a team responsible in the design, implementation and support of network infrastructure for STAGEnet, which carries data, voice and video solutions.
Duties include but are not limited to:
Involved in the detailed design, creation and analysis of network based infrastructure and solutions.
Implementation of changes and solutions of network based infrastructure that meets customer requirements.
Daily administration and management of network infrastructure across the entire enterprise network.
Collaborate with a variety of subject matter experts across divisions with multiple products and vendors to analyze, diagnose, and interpret both network infrastructure technologies as well as application technologies in support of application level incident response.
Development and execution of test plans.
Documentation of network design and engineering.
Provide research and advanced assistance in the troubleshooting and incident management process.
Conduct research on network and communications technologies.
Involved in ongoing monitoring, management and capacity planning.
Utilize logic, analysis and problem solving skills to perform the synthesis and translation of business need into technology solutions.
Design, engineer, implement and troubleshooting of network support and management solutions.
Participate in the execution of the overall security strategy as it relates to network infrastructure.

The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster.
