SUMMARY
Provides engineering input for the design, construction and commissioning of mechanical equipment, rotating equipment reliability, and all associated programs and documentation for pipeline and terminal integrity, engineering and reliability. Provides support to ensure consistency of integrity project management, integrity management plan (IMP) implementation, and IMP documentation across all of the assigned pipelines and terminals.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
1. Manages all aspects of mechanical and structural facility integrity for pipeline and terminal assets in the Northern Great Plains Region including North Dakota and Montana. Additionally, all aspects of multiple and concurrent engineering reviews and miscellaneous projects supporting various company.
2. Supports Regional Operations and Project Engineers personnel from a technical perspective such as equipment specifications, hydraulics, civil and piping design and engineering, HDD profile calculations, pipeline crossing / loading calculations, MTR verification, hydrotest verification, and analysis of malfunctioning equipment and systems.
3. Assists ensuring compliance with reliability programs and procedures. Monitors and reports on the mechanical reliability programs. Helps develop and maintain metrics and key performance indicators relative to mechanical integrity and reliability programs.
4. Supports all aspects of integrity projects and field troubleshooting: helps define problems and solutions, develop scope, assesses integrity; assesses inspection data; develops repair and construction plans; provides engineering oversight and guidance for completion and commissioning.
5. Documents projects in accordance with Tesoro's Project Management Guidelines.
6. Maintains/updates integrity data base for each project; provide input and facilitate the risk assessment process and fitness for services evaluations. Integrates historical integrity data to develop a comprehensive integrity picture of the assets being assessed.
7. Maintains mechanical and structural facilities historical data base, including pipelines, interconnecting piping, terminal piping and tanks; and maintains web-based links to pertinent programs, procedures and engineering documents.
8. Ensures maintenance of all historical mechanical and structural facilities documents and records, including designs, sizing criteria, scopes of work, as-builts, piping Alignment Sheets, Centerlines, etc., and incorporation of related updates.
9. Works extended hours, including nights and weekends, in process operations environment and during periods of inclement weather. Travels intermittently through Northern Great Plains Region in support of Tesoro assets. Accesses areas requiring use of stairs and/or ladders to inspect critical process and mechanical equipment. Responds to upset conditions during off-hours. (Travel 10%)
REQUIREMENTS
EDUCATION
Minimum undergraduate degree in engineering required. Mechanical or Civil Engineering degree preferred.
EXPERIENCE
Minimum 0-3 years of experience with mechanical, facility and structural engineering with a focus in integrity management, operations, pipelines, vessels, tanks and facility design and maintenance within the pipeline and/or petroleum industry. Experience with management of field construction or maintenance crews is preferred
Knowledge of CFR Part 195, ASME, API, NACE, OSHA, NBIC, etc. codes and standards preferred.
