GIS Coordinator
Apex Engineering Group has an opening for a GIS (Geographic Information System) Specialist/Coordinator.
This position can be based in any of our Apex offices.
Primary responsibilities include providing expertise and services on a wide variety of GIS-related projects for both internal and external clients.
This position will primarily be responsible for data analysis, advanced map development, configuration of web-based GIS solutions, and developing automation in the ArcGIS environment.
This position will also provide guidance and recommendations to senior management on the full development and build out of a GIS service division within the company.
Apex leverages the latest GIS software technology and methods for delivering cutting edge results.
Essential Functions:
Prepare advanced detailed maps, data analysis and GIS automation using GIS software, with operational knowledge of CAD software including Civil 3D and MicroStation.
Communicate, promote, and lead geospatial solutions amongst the different service sectors within Apex.
Remote-pilot Unmanned Aerial systems (UAS).
Other duties as assigned.
Qualification Requirements:
Bachelor of Science degree in Geography, Computer Science, or GIS-related field from an accredited college or university.
7-10 years' of progressively responsible experience in developing, integrating, implementing, and maintaining GIS technologies and applications.
Extensive experience with ESRI software, especially ArcGIS Pro v2.
x.
Experience in developing automation within the ArcGIS environment using scripting languages such as Python.
Experience in developing 3D GIS Visualizations.
Experience configuring and managing ArcGIS Online/Maps and Applications.
Experience with high-accuracy GPS data collection.
Knowledge of GIS as it relates to land development, local government, public works, planning, municipal engineering, water resources, environmental permitting, transportation and transportation planning.
Ability to work within a team atmosphere.
Must possess a valid driver's license.
Regional travel may be required.
Physical Requirements:
Ability to operate a computer under normal ergonomic office conditions.
Must work scheduled hours in the office or onsite for projects.
