Small Group - Direct Support Professional

This position is responsible to train and teach individuals with developmental disabilities or with mental/behavior health needs in a variety of skills in the areas of day programming.
This position also requires the person to assist each person to perform tasks, to record programming data, and to assess that the well-being and autonomy of each individual served meets the specific goals of the individual.
SPECIFIC POSITION DUTIES:

Demonstrate, assist, and teach individuals served specific social skills, employment readiness, self advocacy and recreation/leisure.
Must have strong organizational, problem solving, and time management skills.
Arrange and support individuals with experiencing/touring potential employment options in the community.
Promote integration into the community.
Coordinate activities that will promote the maintenance of daily living skills, self sufficiency and independence, and provide/schedule necessary transportation.
Maintain records of activities offered and provided.
Have an ability to inspire and motivate.
Have respect to diversity.
POSITION RELATED QUALIFICATIONSEDUCATION High school diploma preferred.
DD certification preferred.
ND Drivers License and a clean driving record.
The person must provide proof of insurance.
EXPERIENCE Two years of experience working in a human service field preferred.
Effective verbal and written communication Must have an interest/desire to work with people with disabilities.
PHYSICAL Assistance with transferring and lifting up to 25 pounds.
Must be able to operate a motor vehicle.
Must be able to execute Therapeutic Intervention techniques.
Must be able to execute Transitioning and transferring techniques.
Must be flexible to changing routines and schedules on a daily basis.

The fraudster will send a check to the victim who has accepted a job. The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
