This is a supervisory position responsible for directing the overall functions of the Hospital Billing Department in conjunction with the Patient Financial
Billing/Coding Director. This position is responsible for driving the strategies for collecting payment from insurance companies and government health programs. This position requires a thorough understanding of the medical billing and coding process. Performs all procedures necessary to ensure timely billing and reimbursement with third party payers for services rendered to patients. Responsible for the accounts receivable process as well as personnel management and creates a positive working : Two year college degree or equivalent combination of education/experience plus coding experience required. Coding certification required. Candidates without coding certification may be considered but must obtain coding certification within a time period of one year from date of hire. 5Licensure: 6CPC/CPC-H certification is encouragedExperience: Minimum of five years of experience working in the medical/healthcare billing area, with strong demonstrated knowledge of managing claims processing. Leadership in accounts receivable or billing operations preferred. Experience leading a team and promoting a positive working environment. Skills: Ability to work with minimal supervision and supervise the activities of others. Working knowledge of accounts receivable in a medical facility. Excellent knowledge of
applications in a medical facility. Deep familiarity with payer/insurance appeals & reimbursement processes. Demonstrated knowledge and familiarization with Medicare billing regulations and reimbursement methodologies. Experience working with a third party billing service provider is preferred. Knowledge of coding and CPC/CPC-H certification is encouraged.7Interpersonal Skills: Strong organizational & problem solving skills. Adaptable, open to change and able to work in ambiguous situations and respond to new information and unexpected circumstances. Strong teamwork skills including the ability to convey concepts and priorities, as well as ability to solicit feedback and inputs. Relates well with staff and other departments. Ability to work as a team player. Excellent oral and written communication skills.8Physical Effort: Light - must be able to lift 20 lbs. Frequent mobility and/or sitting is required for extended periods of time. Some bending and stooping is required. Requires manual dexterity to operate keyboard and/or calculator, copy and fax machine.9Hours of Work: Normally Monday through Friday 8:00 am - 4:30 pm. Occasional overtime may be required to attend meetings, etc.

Other: 11Occasionally works under stressful conditions due to billing time constraints.

Don't Be Fooled

The fraudster will send a check to the victim who has accepted a job. The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
