Job Description
The Business Analyst assists in the coordination and development of a Long-Range Financial Forecast, an Operations Budget, and a Capital Budget on an annual basis for Basin Electric Power Cooperative, its subsidiaries, and joint projects managed by BEPC. Consultation with the CEO & General Manager, senior management and Plant Managers is necessary to ensure the successful preparation and monitoring of these budgets. This includes the development of formats and preparation of comparative and competitive analyses used by management to evaluate the financial performance of the Cooperatives operations and capital requirements. Additionally, the incumbent is responsible for development of business objectives and strategic goals for the generation facilities; development of business plans, which includes preparing necessary financial forecasts and performance criteria; development of internal comparative analysis, which includes performance monitoring and business performance analysis; and development of competitive external analysis.
Required Skills
This position requires continuous sitting, reaching, and use of keyboard/computer; frequent lifting of ten pounds or less; and occasional standing, walking, bending, reaching, climbing, and lifting up to 50 pounds. Requires finger dexterity and the ability to speak. Must be able to analyze data and reports and conduct research. Must travel to plant sites by plane or operating a motor vehicle. Uses computer and other office equipment. Occasionally in conditions of dirt/dust, fumes, chemicals, and poor ventilation.
Required Experience
The incumbent must have a Bachelor s Degree in Accounting, Business Administration or Finance and 5 years of business planning and analysis activities for an organization of comparable size. Applicant must have thorough knowledge of business, all accounting processes and information technology principles, and a general knowledge of generation facilities. Strong analytical and problem solving skills, strong interpersonal, oral and written communication skills, and effective time management skills are all required. A postgraduate degree or professional certification (MBA, CPA, CMA) and general knowledge of capital asset and cash flow principles, accounts payable, financial reporting and tax procedures is preferred. Incumbent must be proficient in Microsoft Office. Proficiency with Cognos and Lawson is preferred. Applicant must have the bbility to interface well with others in a professional manner, ability to work independently, ability to make decisions in a fast paced time critical environment, ability to teach and instruct senior level managers and the ability to present and share information with Board of Directors, Committees and senior level managers. The applicant must also have the ability to adapt to changing situations. A valid driver s license is required.

The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
