Minimum Qualifications
Individuals must be enrolled in a college or university of have a bachelor''s degree and possess a desire for a career in chemistry, microbiology or in the environmental sciences with coursework in chemistry, biology, microbiology, biochemistry or other related physical or natural science. Summer employment with the Health Department offers individuals the opportunity to gain and apply degree-related knowledge and work experience. All positions will be located in Bismarck and require computer and data management capabilities.

Summary of Work
The Division of Laboratory Services- Microbiology has summer temporary positions available (1 full-time or 2 part-time). These positions will be in the mosquito surveillance program. Duties will include: the preparation and distribution of supplies and materials necessary to the operation of a New Jersey light trap network; processing, counting and speciation of weekly mosquito populations caught in these traps; compilation and distribution of a weekly mosquito report as well as season end report. Responsibilities also include weekly preparation and redistribution of mailing containers for the submission of mosquito samples. They will also assist in the environmental water testing program. Duties include the receipt and processing of water specimens from multiple municipal and environmental sources. Standard methods will be used to process, test and report results.

The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
